Having been a kid during the Cold War (the end of it, admittedly), quite a bit M113, Leopard and CVRT featured prominently in my military fantasies... So I've been watching with some interest Flames of War branching into Team Yankee. A couple of the army books (Brits, West and East Germans and Russians) were on sales at my usual drug dealer recently so I bought them... The original Battle Master box came with the following Imperial Army units:
1 unit of "Lord Knights" (3 knights)
3 units of "Imperial Knights" (3 x 3 knights)
3 units of "Men-at-Arms" (3 x 5 halberdiers)
2 units of archers (2 x 5 minis)
1 unit of crossbowmen (5 minis)
1 "Mighty Canon" (1 canon with 2 gunners)

Although the miniatures ended up re-used into a makeshift WFB army and I have no clue where the rest of the game went, I remember Battle Masters foundly... The game main issues was it's huge vinyl play mat (about 1,50m squared - that's 5 feet for those of us still using body parts to measure stuff) that forced us, back in '93, to play on the floor...

The rules seem promising and I actually have other interested parties in my gaming group.
One thing I like very much is that the small scale hasn't lead to an explosion of mini count.
In most games, the smaller the scale the larger the scope: 28mm is for platoonish games, 15mm for company-sized games, 6mm for battalion and so on... As explained in a previous post, given the typical force deployed in a game, I decided to call each player a "Squadron Commander". For the Imperials, as a good Star Wars: X-Wing computre games series fan, I decided to name the squadrons with the letters of the Old Tionese alphabet.
